Built for performance

The Wavemaster seat was conceived from a prototype originally built by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stellenbosch University in South Africa and race-proven in the gruelling 700km Trans-Agulhas race along the southern coast of South Africa.

Our seat is built to a commercial grade and we don’t sacrifice performance for looks - neither should you.

It is a heavy duty seat built solely to fulfil its purpose and designed using advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and stress analysis techniques. Our primary specification was for it to be reliable and strong and to do exactly what it is supposed to do. We call it ‘fit for purpose’. Only then did we think about the way it looks.

So yes, you will see hexagonal bolt heads - because they are the strongest and most reliable fastener. Yes, you will see bolt locking tabs - because mechanical locking is stronger and more reliable than chemical threadlocking and yes, you will see 360° fully welded joints - because we put them where they need to be, we don’t just spot weld in the wrong places simply for the sake of appearance. And the final finish is electro polished - for passivation purposes (ultimate corrosion protection) - because we know that the harshest of environments requires the best possible protection.

Having said all that, the Wavemaster seat is an impressive looking piece of high performance equipment which will enhance the appearance of any boat and get heads turning.
